Awesomeness

Dailylit.com

Pick a book and subscribe to the RSS feed, and they send you a short segment (takes about 5 minutes to read) as often as you like, for free. I would never pick up some of the classics on the site during the year, but in these bite-sized portions they become much more manageable. I'm reading The Hound of the Baskervilles first. :-)

  1. Nice find. Finally a reasonable way to read In Search of Lost Time, although it may take my entire life to finish.

  2. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I am subscribing to the Count of Monte Cristo. It's a bibliophile's dream come true. And I won't be tempted to ignore other say, house hold tasks because I want to keep reading.
I can read it while I eat my lunch...I am embarassed by how cool I think this is.

  4. Linda & Mychal- I know, I'm so excited! Yay for reading without guilt.

Bego- I don't remember where I found it now, I was just poking around various sites, so it might have been his blog that I found it on. I'm glad more people are hearing about it, though!

  5. It's amazing, and now I've seen it up on other blogs, too, so definitely the word is out. I've succumbed to Pride and Prejudice (how did I ever escape that as an English teacher?). I'd order The Deerslayer, only I have it thanks to a certain someone. Definitely cool.

  6. You've never read Pride and Prejudice?? I adore that book. Dad bought Mom the movie version (the one with Keira Knightly) for her birthday, but then had to suffer through watching it with us girls. Poor guy.
